The Daleville Lady Hawks couldn’t recover after a huge first inning by Providence on March 17 and lost 15-3. Daleville opened the game in the top of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead but the Lady Eagles scored nine runs in the bottom of the first to take an overwhelming lead. Providence added four more runs in the second and two more in the third. The Lady Hawks did score another run in the top of the fourth but it wasn’t enough.

In the top of the first inning, Alissa Haris walked with two outs before Lashundraw Straw belted a two-run home on a line drive to right field. Kaleigh Carr followed with a single and Tierra Minnefield walked but the Lady Hawks just couldn’t bring the runners home before the third out.

In the top of the fourth, Katie Harry started the inning off with a walk and stole second before scoring on a Haley Jones single with two outs.

Haris went the distance on the mound for Daleville pitching four innings and giving up 15 runs on 20 hits with one strikeout.

Straw led the Lady Hawks at the plate going 3-for-3 with a home run scoring one run and 2 RBIs. Jones went 2-for-3, Carr went 1-for 3 and Haris went 1-for 2 scoring a run.

Daleville had seven hits and two errors in the game while leaving five runners on base. Providence had 20 hits and no errors and left seven runners on base.

Houston Academy 13, Daleville 1

The Lady Hawks fell to Houston Academy on March 14 by a score of 13-1. The Lady Raiders came out of the gate scoring six runs in the top of the first inning and added three more in the top of the second.

Daleville got on the board in the bottom of the second with a run when Harry led off the inning with a triple and scored after Nevaeh Pettway ground out.

Rosalee Lascano pitched a complete game for Daleville going five innings and giving up 13 runs on 12 hits.

Harry led the Lady Hawks at the plate going 1-for-2 with a triple and scoring a run. Straw went 1-for-2.

Daleville had two hits and four errors in the game while Houston Academy had 12 hits and no errors.
