EHS track

The Enterprise High School track and field team made history over the weekend at sectionals finishing as runner up for both the boys and girls teams for the first time in school history.

A record number of athletes will also be representing EHS at the state meet in Gulf Shores May 5-7. The boys events will include Xavier Henderson in the discus throw; Erin Foye in the triple jump, high jump and 4x400m relay; Courtney Sanders in the triple jump and 110m hurdles; Andrew Purcell in the high jump; Dain Grimes in the 110m hurdles, long jump, 300m hurdles and 4x400m relay; Brett Tessay in the 800m run, 1600m run and 4x400m relay; Malachi Rich in the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay; Tomar Hobdy, Quentin Hayes, Kendrett Green and Tae Williams in the 4x100m relay; and Donovan Dee in the 4x400m relay.

The girls events will include Mariam Bolaji in the long jump, Joye Anderson in the long jump and 4x100m relay; Jazalyn Knight in the javelin; Emma McCrea in the 3200m run and 4x800m relay; Amariia Leggett in the 100m hurdles; Lauren Rodgers in the 800m run, 4x800m relay and 1600m run; Kamryn Wile in the 4x800m relay and 4x400m relay; Ammarie Jenkins and Maddi Nichols in the 4x800m relay; Aniyah Kitt in the 100m dash, 200m dash and 4x100m relay; Sarah Amos in the shot put and discus; Jaziya Watkins in the 100m dash, 200m dash and 4x100m relay; Jaida Gosha in the shot put; Jamesha Howard in the high jump; Shaniyah Green, A’mirah Baldwin, Trinity McKnight and Isabella Ming in the 4x400m relay;; and Bianca Gray in the 4x100m relay.

The girls team finished in second place at sectionals with 141 points behind Auburn with 272 points. The boys team also finished second with 134.50 points behind Auburn with 303 points

In the girls 100-meter dash, Kitt finished in first in 12.27, Watkins was third in 12.60 and Gray was sixth in 13.11.

In the girls 200-meter dash, Kitt finished in first in 25.33, Watkins was third in 25.97and Leggett finished eighth in 27.46.

In the girls 400-meter dash, Abby Shipp finished in 14th place in 1:05.60, McKnight was 15th in 1:05.91 and Baldwin was 17th in 1:07.41.

In the girls 800-meter run, Rodgers finished in fifth place in 2:28.89 and Madeline Nichols was seventh in 2:36.59.

In the girls 1600-meter run, Rodgers finished sixth in 5:36.66, McCrea was seventh in 5:44.46 and Jenkins was 10th in 5:53.89.

In the girls 3200-meter run, McCrea finished fifth in 12:33.32.

In the girls 100-meter hurdles, Leggett finished fourth in 17.14, Bolaji was fifth in 18.46 and Nijah Brady was sixth in 18.75.

In the girls 300-meter hurdles, Leggett finished third in 50.39 and Brady was eighth in 52.94.

In the girls triple jump, Jamilla Ballew finished eighth with a mark of 31’1 ½” and Ava Barkley was 11th with a 30’2 ½”.

In the girls long jump, Bolaji finished fourth with a mark of 16’4 ¼”, Anderson was fifth with a 16’4” and Leggett was eighth with a 15’7”.

In the girls high jump, Howard finished fourth with a mark of 5’0”.

In the girls javelin throw, Knight finished fifth with a mark of 85’10”, Jayde Pena was sixth with a 76’9” and Rasheeda Moreland was seventh with a 73’8”.

In the girls discus throw, Amos finished first with a mark of 107’0”, Knight was eighth with a 70’9” and Moreland was 12th with a 56’6”.

In the girls shot put, Amos finished second with a mark of 33’4 ¾”, Gosha was fourth with a 32’9 ¾” and Chanel Hicks was ninth with a 27’10”.

In the girls 4x100-meter relay, Enterprise Team “A” of Watkins, Kitt, Gray and Anderson, finished first in 48.01.

In the girls 4x400-meter relay, Enterprise Team “A” of Anderson, Baldwin, Kitt and Green finished third in 4:4.21.

In the girls 4x800-meter relay, Enterprise Team “A” of Rodgers, Wile, McCrea and Jenkins finished second in 10:29.05.

In the boys 100-meter dash, Hobdy finished ninth in 11.65, Green was 10th in 11.66 and Dakaine Leonard was 16th in 11.95.

In the boys 200-meter dash, Williams finished 10th in 23.49, Rich was 12th in 23.58 and Green was 14th in 23.77.

In the boys 400-meter dash, Isaac Alba finished 13th in 55.78 and Jordan Harmon was 14th in 58.17.

In the boys 800-meter run, Tessay finished fourth in 2:04.03 and Kristyan DeJesus was ninth in 2:14.68.

In the boys 1600-meter run, Tessay finished fourth in 4:39.36, Bowden Michael was 10th in 4:57.04 and DeJesus was 12th in 5:15.22.

In the boys 3200-meter run, Michael finished sixth in 10:34.21.

In the boys 110-meter hurdles on Friday, Grimes finished first in 15.73, Sanders was third in 16.39 and Dee was sixth in 18.55. On Saturday, Grimes finished first in 15.49, Sanders was second in 16.26 and Dee was sixth in 18.82.

In the boys 300-meter hurdles, Grimes finished first in 41.31, Foye was second in 41.91 and Dee was sixth in 44.87.

In the boys high jump, Purcell finished second with a mark of 6’2”, Foye was fourth with a 6’0” and Sanders was sixth with a 5’10”.

In the boys long jump, Grimes finished fifth with a mark of 21’6”, Leonard was seventh with a 20’1/2” and Purcell was eighth with a 19’9 ¾”.

In the boys triple jump, Foye finished third with a mark of 43’7”, Sanders was fourth with a 42’1” and Harmon was seventh with a 37’8 ¼”.

In the boys shot put, Preston Powell finished third with a mark of 38’9 ½”, Maurice Martin was seventh with a 36’10 ½” and Tyler Blackmon was ninth with a 35’9”.

In the boys pole vault, Hayden Hvarven finished third with a mark of 11’0”.

In the boys javelin throw, Leonard finished seventh with a mark of 124’3” and John Parker Mitten was eighth with a 121’10”.

In the boys discus throw, Henderson finished third with a mark of 124’0” Powell was fourth with a 111’7” and Matthew Endrihs was ninth with an 89’7”.

In the boys 4x100-meter relay on Friday, Enterprise Team “A” of Rich, Hobdy, Hayes and Green finished fifth in 43.87. On Saturday, Enterprise Team “A” finished third in 44.59.

In the boys 4x400-meter relay, Enterprise Team “A” of Foye, Grimes, Rich and Tessay, finished second I 3:30.74.

In the boys 4x800-meter relay, Enterprise Team “A” of Tessay, Michael, DeJesus and Malachi Stafford finished third in 9:07.69.
