The Enterprise High School boys and girls tennis teams played matches on Thursday, March 17, against Smiths Station and Central Phenix-City. The girls defeated Smiths Station 6-3 while the boys blanked Smiths 9-0. Against Central, the girls won 8-1 while the boys once again beat Central 9-0.
In girls singles against Smiths, Katie Nelson defeated Mya Conley 8-1, Riley Stewart lost to Makayla Heard 8-3, Lola Bruce defeated Taylor Sanders 8-2, Anna Warren defeated Sydnee Cook 8-1, Raedyn Weems defeated Kaylyn Burkhart 8-2 and Abby Upchurch lost to Cadence Vining 8-4.
In girls doubles, Nelson-Warren defeated Conley-Heard 8-6, Stewart-Bruce defeated Cook-Sanders 8-6 and Weems-Johnson lost to Vining-Burkhart 8-6.
In boys singles, Evan Stewart defeated Ryan Haywood 8-1, Graham Andress defeated Cannon Saunders 8-0, Garrett Nelson defeated Hunter Ouzts 8-1, Tripp Rascoe defeated Nathan Schlueter 8-1, Julian Gunter defeated Stone Vance 8-1 and Kyle Stevens defeated Alex King 8-0.
In boys doubles, Stewart-Andress defeated Hayood-Saunders 8-2, Nelson-Stevens defeated Ouzts-Vance 8-0 and Gunter-Rascoe defeated Cole Whitlock-King 8-0.
In girls singles against Central, Nelson defeated Libby Goodman 8-4, Stewart defeated Callie Schofield 8-3, Bruce defeated Kalen Alexander 8-2, Warren defeated Julia Lujan-Ruiz 8-1, Weems defeated Anastasia Horning 8-4 and Upchurch lost to Ava Jane 8-4.
In girls doubles, Nelson-Warren defeated Goodman-Schofield 8-4, Stewart-Bruce defeated Horning-Alexander 8-3 and Weems-Johnson defeated Jane-Lujan-Ruiz 8-3.
In boys singles, Stewart defeated Brennan Parks 8-0 and Andress defeated Nathan Horning 8-0. Central only had two players in singles so Nelson, Rascoe, Gunter and Stevens all won by default.
In boys doubles, Stewart-Andress, Nelson-Stevens and Gunter-Rascoe all won by default.
