The Enterprise 7U All Stars traveled to Texarakana, Ark. This past weekend to represent Alabama in the Dixie 8U World Series and came out with the national championship.
Enterprise went undefeated in the World Series going 7-0 enroute to the national championship. In total, Enterprise outscored its opponents 87-19 in dominating fashion. Enterprise hit a combined .518 batting average with 100 hits as a squad.
“The whole team played well as a whole,” Enterprise coach Steven Bryant said. “They came to play really well. They played their ball, Enterprise ball.
“That’s what separated us from everyone else. We’re so ecstatic for these boys. They’ve worked hard since February playing to get to this point. That’s what we’ve worked towards this whole year and we improved each tournament.”
Enterprise knocked off Mississippi 13-3 in the opening game and then defeated Sabine (Ark.) 14-6 and West Monroe (Louisiana) 18-3. In the next round, Enterprise beat Sulphur Springs (TX) 16-1 before dominating Shreveport (Louisiana) by a score of 14-3.
The semifinals saw Enterprise slug it out to a 1-0 win over Ruston (Louisiana) before handing Texas its first loss of the entire tournament season by a score of 11-3. Up until that point the Texas All Stars had yet to lose a single game.
“I would like to say that we really appreciate the support, the sponsorships and the fundraisers from the community,” Bryant said. “None of this could have been made possible without them. We also have to thank our friends and family for their support.”
