The Enterprise Wildcats (4-1) will look to get back on track this week as they host the Fort Walton Beach (Fla.) Vikings (0-4) for homecoming on Sept. 24.
The Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season last week to Central-Phenix City, while Fort Walton Beach has lost seven straight games dating back to last October. The Vikings lost to Choctawhatchee (Fla.) 28-6 last week. Fort Walton Beach also lost to Navarre 28-6 earlier in the season. Enterprise lost to Navarre to close the regular season in 2020.
The Viking offense has struggled this season averaging just 133 total yards per game, according to Hudl.com. The Fort Walton Beach defense is giving up 34 points per game and 313 yards per game.
The Enterprise offense is averaging 400 yards per game and the defense is giving up 253 yards per game. The Wildcats also average 43 points per game and give up 18 points per game. Enterprise has also only turned the ball over twice all season, while the Wildcat defense has forced 10 turnovers.
Leading the Enterprise offense is sophomore Amare Griffin with 565 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground, while junior Mykel Johnson has 450 yards and nine touchdowns along with seven catches for 106 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Quentin Hayes has rushed for 241 yards and three touchdowns and completed 14-of-24 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns.
The Enterprise defense is led by sophomore linebacker Marzavious Reed with 42 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss, three sacks and eight quarterback hurries. Fellow sophomore linebacker JT Hooten has amassed 37 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, three sacks and four quarterback hurries. Senior defensive lineman DJ Buckner has 20 tackles, 5.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.5 sacks and six quarterback hurries. Cornerbacks Keondre Matthews and Marshawn Fitzpatrick have two interceptions each.
Enterprise and Fort Walton Beach play at 7 p.m. on Sept. 24.
