Below is a letter U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville wrote to the employees at Lockheed Martin’s Pike County facility.

To the line:

As the world watched Russia attempt to roll over its neighbor, few believed Ukrainian forces could hold off a massive attack for 72 hours, much less nearly a month. In this unnecessary war, new heroes of strength emerged. Among the most notable stands the FMG-148 Javelin you build.

The Javelin was designed for this fight, this foe. Your craftsmanship is now a worldwide symbol of Ukrainian resistance. The handheld missiles you build have changed the nature of war and empowers one soldier with one weapon to halt a 40-mile column of armor.

Though a Javelin allows its shooter to fire and forget, from this war forward, no one will forget the powerful result of your American ingenuity and precision manufacturing. Would-be authoritarians around the world will long remember and fear the handiwork of the men and women in Troy, Alabama.

Very respectfully,

Tommy Tuberville

United States Senator
