Jan Murray

With all the craziness going on in this world I’m departing from seriousness just a bit to promote some great country music.

Mash-ups of musical artists and/or song lyrics are nothing new and I have my favorites over the decades of my life. But, now, I think I have a favorite—Forever Country.

The song was released to radio Sept. 16 and the video hit the Internet Sept. 20. The whole concept of the song is “a celebration of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Country Music Association Awards” and is a statement “on the heritage and future of the Country Music industry, and a reflection of this year’s Awards theme — ‘Then. Now. Forever Country,’” according to soundslikenashville.com.

According to cmaworld.com, ““Forever Country” is a fresh take on three Country classics: John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” and Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You.” Denver, Nelson, and Parton are all former CMA Entertainers of the Year.

“Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the CMA Awards, the biggest music video in Country Music history includes the following CMA Award winners: Alabama, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Brett Eldredge, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Ronnie Milsap, Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Charley Pride, Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Randy Travis, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Trisha Yearwood.”

Whoa! Some of my very favorite artists all on one song that is comprised of three amazing classics. It does a heart good to listen to simple, classic music every once and awhile, music with no curse words, no sexual overtures, just an okay listen for any ears. Love it!

“Oh, I hope life treats you kind

And I hope you have all you’ve dreamed of

I wish you joy and happiness

But above all this, I wish you love…

“And I will always love you

I will always love you

Take me home, country roads

Take me home, country roads

And I will always love you…

“On the road again

I will always love you

I just can’t wait to get on the road again

Country roads

The life I love is makin’ music with my friends…

“I will always love you

I can’t wait to get on the road again

Take me home, country roads

I will always love you

I’ll always love you.”

Profits from the sales and streaming of “Forever Country” will go toward music education causes supported by the CMA Foundation.

All good lyrics, beautiful singing, a great message and a wonderful cause.
