On Feb. 22, at 2:22 p.m., Flower Lovers Garden Club planted two plus two (four) gingko trees at Westside Community Park located at the corners of College, Dogwood and Ann Streets. The tree planting was to recognize Alabama’s Arbor Week which is held the last full week in February. The gingkos were selected as part of the Garden Club of Alabama’s President LaMar Merrill’s platform to plant gingkos and maples to increase the state’s fall foliage color.
