The Daleville Warhawks (0-3, 0-1) opened up region play on Sept. 3 on the road against the Houston Academy Raiders (2-1, 1-0) falling by a score of 50-6.

The Warhawks struggled out of the gate turning the ball over on the second play of the game and giving up a total of four fumbles in the loss. Houston Academy, however, was as efficient as one could imagine rolling up 366 yards in just 31 plays. Houston Academy held a 31-0 lead at halftime.

Houston Academy quarterback Kadyn Mitchell scored on a 2-yard run, 6-yard run, two-yard run and a 45-yard pass, while running back Jeb Daughtry scored on a run of four yards and running back JT Ackerman scored on runs of four and seven yards. Raider kicker Walker Elliot also booted a 24-yard field goal.

Daleville’s only score of the game came when quarterback Omarion Pinckney scored on a 9-yard run late in the fourth quarter with the score 50-0 at the time. The score was set up by a 55-yard pass from Pinckney to slotback Marcus Smith. The two-point try failed to bring the final score to 50-8.

While the Warhawks gave up 50 points and the Raiders were able to carve up the Daleville defense at times, they were still able to have some success at times, as well.
