Savannah Mitten

Savannah Mitten (11) had a double against Prattville scoring one run and helping the Lady Cats win 9-1.

The Enterprise High School Lady Wildcats scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to defeat Prattville 9-1 on March 24. Skylar Frey broke open the game with a three run homer in the fifth to shut the door on Prattville.

The game was close with Enterprise leading 2-1 until the fifth inning. The Lady Cats had taken the lead off an inside-the-park home run by Georgia Lessmann in the bottom of the third inning.

Savannah Mitten led off the fifth with a double to center field and was replaced by pinch runner Katie Valentine. Lessmann hit a sac fly to score Valentine before Macy Robinette singled then advanced to second on an error. Gracyn Snell walked and Robinette scored when Taylor Danford reached on a ground ball error. Frey then hit her home run to make the score 7-1. The Lady Cats scored two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to finish the game.

Frey pitched a complete game for Enterprise giving up one run on four hits with four strikeouts to get the win.

Lessmann led the Lady Cats at the plate going 2-for-3 with a home run scoring two runs and 2 RBIs. Frey followed going 2-for-3 with a home run scoring one run and 3 RBIs. Mitten went 1-for-2 with a double scoring one run and 1 RBI, Robinette went 1-for-3 scoring one run and Danford went 1-for-4 scoring four runs.

Enterprise had seven hits and one error in the game while Prattville had four hits and three errors.

Geneva 7, Enterprise 1

The Lady Wildcats fell to Geneva 7-1 March 22 after the Lady Panthers scored five runs in the fifth inning.

Geneva started the scoring with a run in the top of the first inning. The Lady Cats answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the second. With two outs, Snell singled on a ground ball to right field and advanced to second on a passed ball. Mitten singled to right field and advanced to second on the throw allowing Snell to score.

The Lady Panthers pulled away for good scoring another run in the top of the third before the big fifth inning that put the game away.

Snell started on the mound for the Lady Cats pitching 4 and two-thirds innings giving up seven runs on nine hits with four strikeouts. Jamie Jackson came in relief and pitched 2 and one third innings giving up two hits and no runs.

Mitten led the Lady Cats at the plate going 2-for-2 with 1 RBI. Snell went 1-for-3 scoring 1 run and Lessmann went 2-for-4.

Enterprise had nine hits and two errors while leaving 10 on base. Geneva had 11 hits and one error and left eight on base.
