The New Brockton Gamecocks soccer team picked up their second win of the year last week with a 10-0 shutout win over Pike County on March 18 as senior Jacob Bustamante scored five goals.

Bustamante’s eye-popping five goals is a new Gamecock record in the short-lived soccer program. Julian Noble, Cayden Avalos and Matt Hoskin all scored one goal each in the win, as well. Estuardo Fernando Pan Choc also scored two goals. Goal keeper Sean Lindley earned one save at goalie also.

The Gamecocks also lost to Andalusia by a score of 6-0 on March 13.

The Lady Gamecocks lost to Northside Methodist by a score of 9-0 on March 15 and also lost to Providence Christian 10-0 on March 16.

Against Northside, Brit Peterson had two shots on goal, while Ada Monealegre had one shot on goal. The Lady Gamecocks were unable to convert any of those shots into goals, however. Paige Adkins had 11 saves at goal keeper, while Aniya Barkley had six saves.

Against Providence Christian, Ashely Hernandez had one shot on goal but still no points. Adkins had 14 saves at goal keeper.
