The Enterprise Lady Cats (26-7) volleyball team hosted Senior Night on Oct. 7 as they picked up a 3-0 win over the GW Long Lady Rebels at home.

Enterprise won all three sets 25-15, 25-10 and 25-22 with Jadyn Britton having a big day with 14 kills and eight digs in the win. Heather Holtz also chipped in with 24 assists and nine digs, while Lily Rhoades earned two aces and Taylor Danford totaled nine kills. Hannah Chang also earned eight blocks and two kills, while Abigail Wiggins and Zationna Horne had two kills each. Horne also had five blocks and Wiggins had one ace. Kayden Taylor earned one ace and seven digs.

EHS honored its four seniors, Sammy Neuwien, Horne, Chang and Taylor before the game. Neuwien got to stand with her teammates during the presentation after returning home from UAB following a car accident that caused significant injuries to her legs last month.

The Lady Cats followed up Senior Night with a successful performance in the Shrimp Fest Tournament in Gulf Shores on Oct. 9. Enterprise went 4-0 in pool play before falling in the first round of the gold bracket.

Enterprise beat Sumiton Christian 25-12 and 25-14 in two sets and then captured a win over Lee-Huntsville winning both sets 25-7 and 25-4. Against Guntersville, Enterprise captured both sets 25-18 and 25-9 and then knocked off Northridge in three sets. The Lady Cats beat Northside 25-20 in the first set before losing the second set 25-12 and then finally capturing the final set 15-9.

In the gold bracket, Enterprise lost to Madison County in three sets. The Lady Cats won the first set 25-20 and lost the final two sets 25-21 and 15-6.

Britton led Enterprise with 29 kills, 22 digs and six aces in the tournament, while Wiggins chipped in with 10 kills and eight aces. Chang also earned 17 blocks and 13 kills. Danford totaled 15 kills and 24 digs, while Rhoades amassed 48 digs and six aces. Taylor also had six aces and 21 digs, while Holtz earned 12 blocks and 77 assists. Horne also chipped in with 12 kills and 10 blocks.

Enterprise will host the Class 7A, Area 3 Tournament on Oct. 14 as the No. 1 seed. The Lady Cats play Dothan in the semifinals at 2:30 p.m. with Jeff Davis and Prattville playing at 4 p.m. in the other semifinal matchup. The finals are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
