Enterprise State Community College announced on Oct. 8 that the school was adding three new sports and new adult education programs.

The new sports will include the addition of women’s volleyball, golf and cross country to the school’s current men’s and women’s basketball programs, baseball and softball. ESCC previously had a volleyball program in the 1990s. The original ESCC volleyball program ran from 1995 until 2000.

Additionally, ESCC received a $1.16 million grant from TRIO – a federal educational opportunity outreach program – for the construction of an Educational Opportunity Center on the campus of the Alabama Aviation College in Ozark. The school also received a $1.38 million grant from TRIO for an Educational Talent Search Program or area schools that will help approximately 500 middle and high school students “gain the skills necessary to pursue post-secondary education.”

ESCC will be discussing these new programs at a press conference on the school’s campus on Oct. 15.
