The Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) revealed the 2017 Football All-State Team this week and a number of players from New Brockton and Enterprise landed on teams.

Enterprise senior receiver Chance Warren was named a second-team receiver after gaining 707 yards and scoring seven touchdowns in 2017, despite being forced to start at quarterback in two games when injuries ravaged the Wildcats.

Warren was awarded Class 7A Honorable Mention in 2016 after breaking Enterprise’s single-season receptions record.

Warren has a number of FBS scholarship offers from schools like Virginia Tech and Stanford.

New Brockton senior linebacker Chase Cardwell landed on the Class 2A First Team after amassing a team-leading 107 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two pass breakups, one quarterback hurry, a forced fumble and fumble recovery.

Gamecock punter Russell Weeks was named to the second team and defensive lineman Josh Cardwell received honorable mention.
