ECS staff addresses COVID-19 protocol

Editor’s Note: This letter was written by the administration at Enterprise High School, Coppinville Junior High and Dauphin Junior High.

Dear Parents & Students: 

One of our main beliefs in Enterprise City Schools is to create a safe, clean, and intellectually stimulating environment for all of our students. We hope to create that experience again this school year.

Due to the drastic increase in COVID-19 cases over the last month, Enterprise City Schools has made the decision to return to COVID-19 protocol in our schools to protect our students, staff and stakeholders. This decision did not come easy and was only made after discussions with medical and state officials. Many of the same guidelines in place during the 2020-2021 school year will also be implemented at the start of the 2021-2022 school year. Additional details will come from the Superintendent’s Office this week. 

Regrettably, we will not have the traditional Open House. We will have a link on our school website for you to access each teacher’s welcome video. We will send out a notice when the videos are up and ready to be viewed. The videos will provide students and parents with the necessary information to begin this school year. We hope to host a traditional Open House later in the school year.  

Secondly, we will not be using lockers again this school year.  Schedules at the junior high schools will be issued on the first day of school. We will continue the 2020-2021 protocol and allow students to carry a backpack to class.

Just as many of you, the staff at the junior highs and high school did not envision starting the school year this way. However, we ask for your continued support in following the protocols set forth by Enterprise City Schools. We know that if we all work together we can make this another great school year. Go Eagles!
