The Above the Best Silver Chapter of the U.S. Army Warrant Officers Association will be holding its in-person monthly meeting at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14, at Swartworth Hall on Fort Rucker.  A meal will be served. Please observe Fort Rucker COVID protocols. This meeting is open to all warrant officers or those interested in warrant officer issues.

The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 9 of Enterprise will have its next meeting at Ruby Tuesday in Enterprise on Thursday, Oct,14, at 6:30 p.m.  All active duty, retired and veterans are welcome to attend and fellowship at the meeting. We are the secpmd largest chapter and have the most Chapter Service Officers (CSO) in the State of Alabama. We are the only chapter with a vet homeless team and we work thousands of hours each month to serve our community

OCT. 15

A fall cleanup will be held in the city of Level Plains Oct. 15 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Oct. 16 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Four dumpsters will be available by city hall for customers of the Level Plains Water Department only. A recent water bill must be shown in order to be allowed to use the city dumpster on those days.

OCT. 16

The next Fort Rucker Military Officers Association of America dinner will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 6 p.m. at The Landing on Fort Rucker. Dress is semi-formal, informal civilian, or business casual. There will be a social hour as well as a guest speaker with relevant information to the military and retiree audience.

OCT. 20

The Republican Women of Coffee County will meet Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m., at the Enterprise Country Club. District 91 House Representative Rhett Marques will be speaking on the recent Alabama legislative session. Also, State House Representative Mike Jones and Coffee County Commissioner Josh Carnley will discuss their candidacy for the Alabama District 31 Senate seat currently held by Senator Jimmy Holley, who is retiring. Social time begins at 11 a.m. followed by an optional $12 lunch at 11:30 a.m. The program begins at approximately noon. Everyone is invited, but reservations are required. OCT. 28

The next meeting for the DAV Wiregrass Chapter 99 will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m. in the New Brockton Senior Center. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish. Festivities will be closing out the summer season and welcoming in the holiday season. All active duty military and veterans are invited. The Enterprise Senior Citizens Center is for anyone 60 years of age or older. There is no fee to participate in the senior center program but donations are welcomed. Art classes are offered every Tuesday from 8 until 10 a.m., and 10 a.m. until noon. Sewing classes are held on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until noon. Chair exercise classes are held on Thursdays beginning at 10 a.m. Classes meet at 2401 Neil Metcalf Road (U.S. Highway 167 North). Enterprise Chapter 9 of the Disabled American Veterans has monthly meetings at Ruby Tuesday Restaurant, 625 Boll Weevil Circle, Enterprise. The meeting is held the second Thursday each month and starts at 6:30 p.m. Come at 6 p.m. to eat prior to the meeting. All pre-retirement active duty and veterans are encouraged to attend.
