The number of Enterprise City Schools students that have tested positive for COVID-19 so far this school year has reached 73, according to ECS Superintendent Greg Faught.
While the Alabama Department of Public Health’s (ADPH) School Dashboard will not be updated until Dec. 4 because of the lack of reports from school over Thanksgiving, Faught confirmed to The Sun that the school has received reports of students testing positive over the Thanksgiving break last week but the school system is still awaiting the documentation verifying those cases, as well.
The number of ECS employees that have tested positive since Aug. 6 has also reached 66. In total, 139 students and employees at ECS have tested positive since school began on Aug. 6. That number will likely increase with students returning from Thanksgiving break.
“We anticipate an increase in numbers this week as students and employees return from break,” Faught said.
