An Elba man remains in Coffee County Jail following his arrest in connection with the death of an Elba woman.
James Edward Lee, 49, is charged with murder, certain persons forbidden to possess firearms, resisting arrest and attempting to elude authorities.
Elba police discovered the body of Shaquetha Sharaey Tyson, 28, Sunday, Jan. 24, after going to the 200 block of Adkinson Avenue on a requested welfare check, according to a news release from the Elba Police Department
Officers were unable to contact Tyson and contacted the owner of the property to obtain entry to the property where Tyson was found dead with “obvious signs of foul play,” according to the news release.
This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to contact their local law enforcement agency, said Elba police.
