With his wife Lilly holding the family Bible, Justin Flowers was sworn in to office as the New Brockton Town Councilman for District 2 by Coffee County Probate Judge Jodie Thompson at the council meeting Nov. 4, 2021.
The new councilman was 29 years old at the time, earning him the distinction of being the youngest African American New Brockton Councilman to serve in the Coffee County town. Flowers was appointed to fill the council seat vacated by Councilman Eddie Cordle who opted not to seek reelection.
