Former Daleville star Jalen White not only scored his first collegiate touchdown this past weekend but he also rushed for more than 150 yards in Georgia Southern’s 59-33 win over Arkansas State.
Coming into the game, White had carried the ball just 16 times in four games. White earned 13 carries against Arkansas State and rewarded the new coaching staff with 157 yards and two touchdowns, averaging an astounding 12 yards per carry.
White’s first touchdown of his career came when he looked to be stopped in the backfield before breaking a pair of tackles and racing 59 yards for the score. He would go on later to score again on a 47-yard run.
The sophomore running back came to Georgia Southern after a record-setting career at Daleville, where he not only broke the school single season rushing record but shattered the state rushing record with 3,519 rushing yards as a senior.
Georgia Southern will travel to Troy this weekend as White will get a chance to play in his home state for the first time in college.
