The Daleville Warhawks (0-8, 0-5) remain winless on the season after falling 57-0 on homecoming against the Slocomb Red Tops on Oct. 8.
Slocomb scored 29 points in the first quarter and went into halftime with a 43-0 lead. Even with the lopsided score in the first half, the Warhawks also had chances to score with the ball in the Slocomb red-zone four times coming away without points in the loss. Daleville also lost a fumble, turned the ball over on downs twice and had two punts blocked leading to the frustrating homecoming conclusion.
Slocomb scored on runs of eight yards, 23 yards, 14 yards, 96 yards and 43 yards in the first half, along with a 63-yard touchdown pass. The Red Tops also earned two 2-yard touchdown runs in the second half as the two sides played with a running clock.
For the game, Daleville totaled just 182 yards of offense, while Slocomb rolled up 367 yards in just 35 plays. Quarterback Omarion Pinckney led the Daleville offense with 139 yards on 28 carries, while he also completed 4-of-13 pass attempts for 42 yards. Pinckney also recorded three tackles on defense.
Receiver Marcus Smith hauled in three passes for 18 yards on offense and earned four tackles on defense. Defensive tackle Zacorey Culver recorded a career-high six tackles and a tackle-for-loss, while Michael Hicks earned five tackles and a tackle-for-loss.
Slocomb’s Rashawn Miller rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries, while Jaylen Nobles rushed for 58 yards and three touchdowns on six carries.
