Dear Editor:
I am a newcomer to Enterprise (we PCS’d here in December from Colorado Springs). The whole COVID-19, masks or no mask quandary, has been so devastatingly dividing! It has been heartbreaking to see how it has affected our churches, families, neighborhoods, etc. I’ve followed some conversations on the NextDoor app and have been saddened to see how much ugliness is so readily dispensed over this issue.
I personally hate wearing masks…but that’s beside the point :-). My reason for reaching out was to tell you that I really appreciated your opinion column discussing the school board meeting. Thank you for speaking reason, civility, and just plain old decency in your words.
I appreciate your call for each of us to show respect to others….whether or not we agree with them. Our community would be much better served if we acted in humility, gave others the benefit of the doubt, and made sacrifices for the sake of others. I would not want to be in the position of being a school superintendent or government official in these days…it’s an impossible task.
Thank you for having the courage to write that article. I enjoy reading this paper each week! It was really fun to see a column from a friend of ours in Colorado (Bruce Hausknecht)….small world indeed!
Have a great day - and thank you for what you do!
