National Signing Day was particularly quiet for Jon Sumrall’s Troy Trojans as the first-year head coach welcomed one addition to the program on Wednesday with the signing of Auburn High School cornerback Nasir Pogue. Sumrall also officially announced four mid-year additions to the program.
“Due to our scholarship numbers, we simply were not able to bring in a large recruiting class this year,” Sumrall said.
“However, what we were able to do was bring in a select number of high-quality young men who also happen to be outstanding football players. Nasir comes from a winning program at Auburn High School, has grown up in the game of football and gives us another tremendous athlete in our secondary.
“The four mid-year guys we brought in before the spring semester have all been here working out with the team and have meshed well into our program,” Sumrall said.
“Jeremiah and Daniel are going to come in and compete immediately for playing time on the offensive line, while Michael and RaJae’ give us a pair of big targets in the passing game, but also highly skilled blockers for our rushing attack.”
