The Enterprise Lady Cats were knocked out of the 7A Area 3 tournament Thursday, May 5, by Prattville 6-4 in an elimination game but will still play in the state tournament.

Enterprise had led 4-0 going into the sixth inning before the Lady Cats gave up six runs to the Lady Lions in the bottom of the inning and couldn’t rally in the top of the seventh.

Enterprise finished as the 7A Area 3 runner-up and will advance to the state tournament in Montgomery in the Central Regional. The Lady Cats will play Fairhope, the 7A Area 2 winner, on Thursday, May 12 at 9 a.m.

Enterprise scored first in the top of the first inning, added another run in the top of the third and two more in the top of the fifth before Prattville made its comeback in the bottom of the sixth.

Skylar Frey started the game on the mound for the Lady Cats pitching five and two-thirds innings giving up six runs on 11 hits with six strikeouts. Gracyn Snell came on in relief to get the final out for one-third of an inning giving up one hit.

Taylor Danford led Enterprise at the plate going 1-for-3 with a triple scoring one run and 1 RBI. Georgia Lessman went 1-for-4 scoring two runs, Macy Robinette went 2-for-4 scoring one run and Emma Faulk went 1-for-3.

Enterprise had six hits in the game and no errors while Prattville had 12 hits and three errors.

Enterprise 13, Jeff Davis 3

In game one of the area tournament on May 3, the Lady Cats took care of business early scoring 10 runs in the first three innings to defeat Jeff Davis 13-3. The Lady Vols scored three runs in the top of the second inning but that was all the runs they could muster in the game.

Jamie Jackson pitched a complete game for Enterprise giving up three runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts.

Lessmann led Enterprise at the plate going 3-for-3 with a home run scoring three runs and 3 RBIs. Kinley Hutto went 1-for-2 with a triple scoring two runs, Snell went 1-for-3 with a double and 1 RBI, Danford went 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs and Robinette went 1-for-4 scoring two runs and 1 RBI.

Enterprise had 11 hits and one error in the game while Jeff Davis had seven hits and six errors.

Prattville 4, Enterprise 2

Game two of the tournament on May 3 saw the Lady Cats fall to Prattville 4-2 and drop to the losers bracket. Prattville was ahead 4-0 going into the top of the sixth inning but Enterprise scored two runs to avoid the shutout.

Frey pitched a complete game for the Lady Cats giving up four runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.

Danford led Enterprise at the plate going 1-for-2 scoring one run. Faulk went 1-for-3 and Savannah Mitten went 1-for-3.

Enterprise had four hits and no errors in the game while Prattville had seven hits and three errors.

Enterprise 11, Jeff Davis 1

In the first game on May 5 in the losers bracket, the Lady Cats jumped on the Lady Vols scoring five runs in the bottom of the first and four runs in the bottom of the second to put Jeff Davis away early and win 11-1.

Snell started on the mound for Enterprise pitching two innings giving up no hits with two strikeouts. Jackson came on in relief and pitched three innings giving up one run on two hits with three strikeouts.

Faulk led the Lady Cats at the plate going 2-for-3 with a triple and a double and 3 RBIs. Hutto went 1-for-3 scoring one run with 2 RBI, Danford went 2-for-3 scoring two runs and 2 RBIs, Robinette went 2-for-3 scoring two runs with 1 RBI and Frey went 1-for-3 scoring two runs and 1 RBI.
