Crying towel

A trio of Coffee County football coaches will speak at the inaugural Crying Towel Award event on Aug. 13 in benefit of the Distinguished Young Women of Coffee County.

Enterprise head coach Rick Darlington will be joined by New Brockton head coach Zack Holmes and Zion Chapel head coach Randy Bryant at the event that will take place at Enterprise High School’s Performing Arts Center.

The coaches will speak to the crowd about their upcoming season and what they can expect and at the end of the event, the team whose team has been predicted to have the worst season – based on the coaches speeches – will be presented with the satirical Crying Towel Award. Dr. Michael McQueen will serve as the emcee of the event.

There will also be a Pizza Eating Contest featuring assistant coaches and players at the event.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. on Aug. 13 at the PAC and tickets are $10 for those 12 years old and older. Tickets are $5 for children under 12. All proceeds from the event go to benefit the Distinguished Young Women of Coffee County Scholarship Program.
