CBS has announced that the series premier of “The FBI Declassified” on Oct. 6 will focus on the 2013 kidnapping of Ethan Gilman from a school bus in Midland City.

In 2013, Jimmy Lee Dykes shot and killed Dale County bus driver Charles Poland, and then kidnapped Gilman and held him hostage for hours inside a fortified bunker on his property.

“The FBI Declassified” will feature interviews from FBI agents that worked the case and analysts to give a behind the scenes look of the hostage crisis.

“When the entire FBI machine spins up on one case acting in concert, it takes your breath away,” FBI profiler Molly Amman said in a statement. “There was no mountain that the FBI would not have moved to save Ethan.”

After a nearly seven-day standoff between Dykes and the FBI, the Hostage Rescue Team breached Dykes’ bunker before shooting him and rescuing Gilman. Dykes died at the scene.

The episode of “The FBI Declassified” will be titled “Saving Ethan” and will air at 9 p.m. on CBS on Oct. 6.
