The Coffee County EMA and National Weather Service released a new update on Hurricane Delta this morning.
The hurricane is expected to strengthen into a major hurricane later tonight and landfall is expected along the Louisiana coast on Oct. 9. While the main impacts are impacted to occur west of the Wiregrass, there is still the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall through Oct. 10.
According to the statement, the Wiregrass is expected to receive less than an inch of rain from the hurricane but small pockets of higher amounts also can’t be ruled out.
