Daleville’s Za’Nyla Rich (12) works her way around a defender while driving to the basket.

The Daleville Lady Hawks (0-9) finished the season Monday night falling to the Providence Christian Lady Eagles (2-13) 51-25 in area tournament play.

Daleville fell behind 14-4 in the first period but managed to outscore Providence 8-6 in the second period with the halftime score at 20-12 in favor of Providence.

The Lady Hawks just couldn’t close the gap in the second half as Providence pulled away in the fourth period outscoring Daleville 13-4.

Za’Nyla Rich led the Lady Hawks with 14 points, four rebounds and two assists. She was followed by Laterria Adams with 7 points and Timiya Johnson with 4 points.

Providence will now face No. 1 seed Houston Academy on Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. The winner of that game will play the winner of the Wicksburg vs Slocomb game on Feb. 11 at 6 p.m.
