Welch promoted to LPPD Sgt

Level Plains Police Officer Mikki Welch was promoted to police sergeant by Level Plains Police Chief Johnny Summers in a ceremony at city hall Friday, July 30. Family members present to congratulate the new sergeant are, from left, his son, Jordan; his sister, Shannon Welch; his mother, Shirley Welch; his daughter, Janiya Welch; and his wife LaTasha Brown-Welch. “It means a lot to me to have the opportunity to work with him. He’s a good man, a good officer and I’m proud to have him,” said Summers. “It means a lot to the city to have somebody like Sgt. Welch to depend on. We’re proud to have him full time. We’ve got a good crew here and we continue to build. That’s what we want to do for the community.”
