• Daleville Christian Fellowship Worship Center will host a Pre-Vacation Bible School Super Soaker Saturday Fun Day on June 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The entire family is invited to come share the fun. There will be water slides, inflatables, a dunking booth, face painting, board games, volleyball, basketball, ping pong, sack racing, horse shoe tossing, food and snow cones, and plenty of fun. Vacation Bible School will be from June 6- 10, from 6-8 each night. • The Daleville City Schools summer feeding program is for all children 18 and younger. Breakfast will be from 7:45-8 a.m. and lunch from noon-12:30 p.m. at A.M. Windham Elementary beginning June 6 Monday through Friday until June 17, Tuesday through Friday June 21-24 and Monday through Friday June 27–30. Lunch will be available at Daleville High School from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Monday through Thursday, June 6-16, Tuesday through Thursday June 21-23, Monday through Thursday June 27-30, Tuesday through Thursday July 5-7, and Monday through Thursday from July 11-28. Food must be eaten at the school.

• First Baptist Church Level Plains will be kicking off the summer June 12-16, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. with Vacation Bible School called Monumental/Celebrating God’s Greatness.

• The Organized Community Action Program will take call-in appointments only for their Regular LIHEAP—Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program—Cooling Program on June 13 in Ozark starting at 8 a.m. Appointments are made on a first come, first serve basis until all appointments are issued. Please note that the utility bill in the applicant’s name, prior month’s total household income and original Social Security cards are required to make application. Contact the OCAP office in Ozark at (334) 774-2011. No walk-ins will be taken.

• The Daleville Senior Center members invite the public to the center’s Chili Dog Plate Fundraiser Monday, June 20, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Hot dog/Chili dog plates—with chips and a drink—will cost $5. Participants can dine in at or carry out from the center at 18 Old Newton Road in Daleville. Musical entertainment will be provided by Allen Wayne. All proceeds benefit Daleville Senior Center members’ activities fund.

• A DAV Chapter Service Officer will be located at the Town Hall in New Brockton Alabama every Wednesday from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. Any veteran needing help with a VA claim is welcome. This is on a walk in basis, no appointment is needed. For further information contact Mike Doran at (334) 406-6700.

• “The Stories Behind the Stars” initiative was created to organize one central digital location to collect the stories of all Americans who were killed during World War II. These personal stories will be digitally linked to war memorials and cemeteries by a smartphone app so visitors can read the stories of the fallen. Work is currently being done on all of the Alabama WWII soldiers. • The DAV Chapter 9 van program has resumed services to run on Mondays and Fridays to Montgomery and Tuskegee. Pick-up is at 5 a.m., at Hardee’s on Rucker Boulevard in Enterprise; and at 5:15 a.m., at Bojangle’s on Daleville Avenue at the intersection off Highway 134 in Daleville.
