Daleville man arrested on multiple child sex charges

Daniel Sayre

A Daleville man is in Dale County Jail after his arrest April 19 on multiple sex charges involving a minor under the age of 16.

Daniel Sayre, 35, is in jail on no bond, said Daleville Department of Public Safety Director Chief Allen Medley. He was arrested at his Daleville home without incident.

Sayre is charged with two charges of rape, two charges of sodomy, two charges of incest and four charges of possession of child pornography. All charges involve a minor under the age of 16, Medley said.

Medley said the investigation began with a tip that DPS Lt. Ashley Paul received about inappropriate behavior on Sayre’s part towards a minor under the age of 16.

Medley credits Paul with taking the tip through to an arrest, the Department of Human Resources and the Child Advocacy Center. “A big ‘Thank you,’ goes to all of them for this investigation,” Medley said.
