Level Plains Mayor Ronnie Thompson shows off the new electronic city sign installed outside of the city hall on Joe Bruer Road. The center section of the new sign will be used to display timely public notices and upcoming events, the mayor said. Thompson also asks citizens to be aware that signs, such as those promoting political candidates, businesses or garage sales signs, in the city limits of Level Plains must be 33.5 feet from the center line of the roadway. “This is due to the fact that the city has to maintain that area, as well as cut the grass, and will not be moving signs and/ or be responsible for those who do not meet that criteria and are damaged,” he explained.
