Daleville quarterback Omarion Pinckney will lead the Warhawk offense this season.

The Daleville Warhawks have worked tirelessly all offseason to make sure that 2021 isn’t a repeat of the 1-9 season that was 2020 and that begins against one of the Warhawks’ toughest opponents last season: the Elba Tigers.

Elba dominated Daleville from the beginning of the game until the end with the final scoreboard reading 50-0 in favor of the Tigers. It was the most lopsided defeat that either team has suffered in the series. Daleville is motivated to not allow that to happen again.

Daleville is opening the season with new head coach Will Garner implementing slight changes in the offense and defense this season, the biggest change being Elite 11 offensive/defensive lineman Jeremiah Moore moving to fullback and linebacker. Moore is expected to be the featured back in Daleville’s triple option/veer style of offense that will be led by sophomore quarterback Omarion Pinckney. The Daleville defense will boast a 4-4 defense with four down linemen and four linebackers. Both lines of scrimmage are expected to be the biggest improvements this season.

On the other side, Elba is coming off a season in which the Tigers missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade. Head coach Marc Sieving returns a veteran group that includes linebacker Chrystyile Caldwell, who is committed to play his college career at South Alabama.

The game kicks off at 7 p.m. in Warhawk Stadium in Daleville.
