Both the Enterprise Wildcats and Lady Cats soccer teams hit the road for tournament play this past weekend.
The Lady Cats went 1-2 at the Southern Shootout in Foley with a 2-0 win over McGill-Toolen followed by a 3-1 loss to Hewitt-Trussville and 3-0 loss to Fairhope.
Against McGill-Toolen, Emma Avery and Ashlyn Purvis scored one goal each. Lauren Kinney and Hope Yerdon each had an assist, as well. On defense, Madilyn Webb earned six steals and Purvis had four steals. Lizzy Joreski had three saves at goalkeeper.
Avery scored Enterprise’s lone goal against Hewitt-Trussville, while Joreski had three saves at goal.
Against Fairhope, Purvis, Webb and Yerdon had three steals each and Joreski had seven saves at goalie.
Joreski and Kinney were forced into action at goalie after Enterprise senior goalkeeper Maggie Bryan unfortunately suffered a season-ending ACL injury leading into the game.
The Wildcats traveled to Fort Payne for tournament action and went 0-2-1 with a 1-1 tie with Fort Payne and a 7-0 loss to Vestavia Hills and a 10-0 loss to Dalton High (Ga.).
Dante Buchanan scored Enterprise’s lone goal of the weekend, while Jason Bustamonte earned a save.
