The Enterprise State Community College Lady Boll Weevils lost four straight games against the Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) Lady Pirates in a pair of doubleheaders last week.
On April 2, ESCC dropped the first game at home 10-7 despite a pair of home runs from Harleigh Sims and Keisley Cotton. Sims, Cotton, Tori Watts, Theresa Reynolds, Sydney Arnett, Aspyn Sanchez and Lillian Reynolds each scored one run in the loss.
MacKenzie Chamblee pitched all seven innings and gave up 11 hits and 10 runs – seven of which were earned runs – in the first game of the first doubleheader.
ESCC lost the second game of the doubleheader by a score of 4-1 as the Lady Weevils went just 7-for-26 at the plate as a team.
Tankeya Smith led ESCC at the plate going 2-for-2 with a home run, an RBI and ESCC’s only run. Arnett pitched all seven innings and gave up six hits with four runs and a homer, while also striking out eight batters.
ESCC traveled to CVCC on April 3 and lost the first game of another doubleheader 3-1. Neither team was able to get their bats going as each team had just four hits. Watts and Sims both went 2-for-3 at the plate for ESCC with Sims hitting her second home run against CVCC in the series.
Arnett pitched all six innings and struck out five batters, while also giving up four hits and three runs with two homers.
ESCC lost the second doubleheader by a score of 7-4 after again struggling at the plate as a team. ESCC went just 6-for-26 at the plate. Theresa Reynolds went 2-for-2 with two runs, while Sims went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Chamblee pitched all six innings and struck out two batters, while giving up 11 hits and seven runs including another homer.
