The New Brockton Gamecocks baseball squad swept Goshen on the road on April 1.
New Brockton won the first game 6-1 as Riley Simmons went 2-for-2 at the plate with a run, while Colton McClenny went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Gabe Herrington went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Kaden Cupp also scored two runs, Brayson Carr scored one run and Baylon Foster scored one run.
Drew Cashin pitched all seven innings and mowed down 16 batters, while giving up just one hit and one run in the win. This is the second time in the last month that Cashin struck out more than 15 batters in a game.
The Gamecocks upended Goshen again in the second game by a score of 7-5. Cupp went 2-for-3 at the plate with three runs. Peyton Green, Jackson Lawson and Simmons each had two hits, as well. Cashin scored three runs and Green scored one.
Brayson Carr pitched all seven innings and struck out one batter, while giving up 10 hits and five runs.
The Gamecocks travel to Pike County on April 8 and host Pike County on April 9.
