The Enterprise State Community College Boll Weevils hosted a pair of conference games last week against Coastal Alabama-East and Chattahoochee Valley, coming away with one win and one loss.

First up, ESCC came away with an offensive explosion to score a season high 113 points on the way to a dominant 113-72 win on Jan. 16.

ESCC never trailed in the game and took a massive 55-28 lead into halftime before holding on to outscore Coastal 58-44 in the second half to secure the win.

ESCC boasted a season-high seven different players scoring in double digits in the win, Mykil Wilson’s 17 points leading the way. Wilson added two rebounds, three assists and three steals to his stat line.

Jarrett Jenkins and Ryan Davis scored 16 points each with Davis also contributing two rebounds and three steals. Jenkins added five rebounds and two steals. Calen Murray added 11 points and three steals.

Ryan Sanders, Terrance Anderson Jr. and Demetri Galette each scored 10 points. Jalen Smith had a team-high five assists, while Enterprise native Ja’Juan Hayes chipped in with seven points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal.

After that big conference win, a fired up Boll Weevil squad hosted Chattahoochee Valley on Jan. 18 but ended up falling 67-64 in a frustrating finish.

ESCC trailed 66-64 with just under two seconds remaining when a Boll Weevil was called out-of-bounds before he could get a shot up to try and tie the game. A free throw stretched the lead out to 67-64 before time expired.

ESCC trailed 39-33 at halftime but the Boll Weevils were able to outscore Chattahoochee Valley 31-28 in the second half.

Josh Graham led the way for ESCC with 22 points and seven rebounds, while Murray scored seven points. Hayes and Jenkins scored six points each. Hayes also grabbed three rebounds and three steals in the loss.

After an offensive explosion against Coastal-East, the Boll Weevils shot under 30 percent from the field and only Graham managed to score in double digits against Chattahoochee Valley.

The Lady Boll Weevils also came up short against Chattahoochee Valley on Jan. 18 falling by a score of 109-71.

Ivy Turner led the Lady Boll Weevils with 23 points in the loss, while Laken Cook added 11 points and Savannah Carty scored 11 points.

ESCC hits the road on Jan. 23 to face off against Bishop State before hosting Wallace State on Jan. 27.
