State Champ

Enterprise freshman Aniyahh Kitt captured a state championship in the girls 60-meter dash last week.

Enterprise High School freshman indoor track star Aniyah Kitt captured the Class 7A State Championship in the girls 60-meter dash at the state indoor track meet on Feb. 6. Senior Rachel Peterson also earned state runner-up in the girls long jump.

Kitt finished in first in the 60-meter dash with a school record time of 7.74 seconds, while Peterson finished at No. 11 with a time of 8.15. Kitt is the first individual state track champion in EHS history.

The girls 4x200 relay team finished in fifth place with a school-record time of 1:47.82. the relay team consisted of Kitt, junior Amariia Leggett, seventh grader Mariam Bolaji and Peterson.

The girls 4x400 relay team finished in 12th place with a time of 4:44.80. The relay team consisted of senior Natalie Warner, junior Lauren Rodgers, seventh grader Ja’Maiya Reese and eighth grader Emma McCrea.

The girls 4x800 relay team also finished in 10th place with a time of 10:52.29. The team consisted of Warner, Rodgers, senior Kayleigh Riordan and McCrea.

In the boys 60-meter hurdles, junior Dain Grimes finished in 10th place with a time of 9.15, while senior Bryce Edwards came in right behind Grimes at 11th place with a time of 9.33.

Grimes also took 12th place in the boys long jump and eighth in the boys triple jump.
