RICK SAWYER McMICHAEL

Rick Sawyer McMichael, 72, of Duncanville, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, 12 Jan. 2022 at his home.

A Vietnam era Navy veteran, Rick will be buried at DFW Veteran's Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 11 2022, at 2:30 p.m., following a brief outdoor service and military honors. No flowers or donations are necessary.

Rick was born in Atlanta, GA, 28 October 1949, the firstborn son of Jack S. and Louise (Mason) McMichael. After four years of service in the Navy with military duty off the coast of Vietnam, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines, Rick attended college at Enterprise State Junior College and Troy University in Alabama. Rick lived and worked most of his adult life in Texas. After many years working for Vaught Industries and Northrup Grumman as a computer programmer/analyst, he retired in 2012. Known as a very generous and giving man to all who knew and loved him, Rick required little for himself but gave all he had to give to others.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his siblings, brothers Scott McMichael of Newport News, VA; Dana McMichael of Austin, TX; his sister, Cindy Sigmon of Rogers, AR; four nephews and three nieces; and close friends Rick considered family, Tom and Carla Kunkle of Arlington, Texas.

The loss of Rick's presence here is great, but as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, Rick is now with his Savior awaiting those he loved who also know and believe in Christ to join him at Home in heaven.
