The Coffee County Education Retirees Association will meet Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the Coffee County Farm Center in New Brockton. The meeting will begin at the new time of 10 a.m. This month’s program will be “Good News for Good Days” presented by Dr. Ben Bowden, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Enterprise. The Above the Best Silver Chapter of the U.S. Army Warrant Officers Association will be holding its in-person, monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 11:45 a.m.  at Swartworth Hall, 5302 Outlaw Street, Fort Rucker.  A meal will be served.  Please observe Fort Rucker COVID protocols.  This meeting is open to all warrant officers or those interested in warrant officer issues.

FEB. 11

The Alabama Cooperative Extension System will be hosting the 2022 Wiregrass Cotton Expo on Friday, Feb. 11, at the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds in Dothan. The expo will feature a vendor tradeshow, and Extension specialists speaking on a variety of topics including agronomic updates, the cotton market outlook for 2022, cotton chemical updates, and more. Registration for the Wiregrass Cotton Expo begins at 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 11, with the expo beginning at 8:30 a.m. The expo is free to attend and includes a sponsored lunch for those who attend. FEB. 16

The Republican Women of Coffee County will meet Wednesday, Feb. 16 at the Enterprise Country Club. The candidates for Coffee County Sheriff will be speaking including Scott Byrd and Dave Sutton, and for coroner, Robert Preachers and Arnold Woodham. Candidates will give background information and their platform, which will be followed by a Q&A session. Social time begins at 11 a.m. with an optional $12 lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. The program begins at approximately 11:45 a.m. Everyone is invited, but reservations are required. The Enterprise Senior Citizens Center is for anyone 60 years of age or older. There is no fee to participate in the senior center program but donations are welcomed. Art classes are offered every Tuesday from 9 until 11 a.m., and 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Also every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:45-9:45 a.m., a Senior Aerobics class is available. Sewing classes are held on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until noon. Chair exercise classes are held on Thursdays beginning at 10 a.m. On Feb. 7 at 9:30 a.m., a Craft Class with Birgit will be held at 9:30 a.m. The SAROCA Valentine’s Dance will be Thursday, Feb. 10 at Civic Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. Please use main entrance of Civic Center only. Valentine’s Bingo will be on Feb. 14 at the Enterprise Country Club - leaving at 8 a.m. No meal service that day. “The Stories Behind the Stars” initiative was created to organize one central digital location to collect the stories of all Americans who were killed during World War II. These personal stories will be digitally linked to war memorials and cemeteries by a smartphone app so visitors can read the stories of the fallen. Work is currently being done on all of the Alabama WWII soldiers. Those with any information or photos they are willing to share on any soldier who died or was killed in World War II from Coffee or Geneva County, please contact Donna Snell at [email protected] or (334) 774- 6777.

The first Saturday of every month the Weevil City Cruisers will have a cruise-in at Milky Moos from 5-8 p.m.
