On May 11, Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Center announced that an employee had tested positive for COVID-19.
A news release stated that the employee was receiving the appropriate medical care and is not working. Also, the positive test came from an outside contact, not from someone within the Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation facility.
“We have notified the Coffee County Health Department, Alabama Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control of this case,” Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Center Administrator Wes Averett said in a statement. “We are in the process of notifying our residents, their families and our staff members.”
According to the release, Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation has restricted visitation and implemented infection control protocols for the past two months. These protocols and guidelines come from the CDC and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Those protocols also include the use of personal protective equipment, monitoring residents for symptoms multiple times a day, logging staff temperatures when reporting for work and monitoring staff symptoms throughout their shift.
“The health and safety of our residents and staff is our top priority,” Averett said. “We are asking for the understanding and patience of the families with loved ones in our care as we do our very best to ensure the well-being of our residents.”
