Second Wreaths Across America Ceremony held in Daleville

Members of the Daleville High School JROTC posted the Colors and assisted during the ceremonial wreath laying in honor of each branch of military service, prisoners of war, those still missing in action and for families of those killed in action during the Wreaths Across America Ceremony in Daleville Dec. 18.  From left, are Cadets Emily Scott, Gabrielle Scott, Hunter Tucker, Matthew Jahandar, Johnny Robles, Paris McCray, Cheyenne Monk, Jascianna Straw, Christian McKinney and DHS JROTC Instructor retired Army Command Sgt. Wind and rain didn’t daunt the spirits of those attending the second Wreaths Across America event held in Daleville at Daleville Memorial Gardens Dec. 18.
Daleville Mayor Jayme Stayton read a proclamation recognizing the importance of honoring the more than 200 veterans buried at the cemetery and Daleville High School JROTC Lt. Col. Cheyenne Monk opened the ceremony with a moment of silence “to remember the fallen, the prisoners of war, the missing in action and to honor those who have served and are serving this great nation’s armed services.
