Moore, Tuberville take Coffee County

The Republican Party voters in Coffee County followed the statewide choices for Second Congressional District United States Representative and United States Senator.

Barry Moore and Tommy Tuberville are the choice of the nearly 25 percent of the Coffee County Republican voters who went to the polls in the Republican Party runoff election Tuesday, July 14.

Moore is the winner of the GOP primary runoff for the Second Congressional District in Coffee County. He earned 6,947 votes to Jeff Coleman’s 1,847 votes.

“Keep us in your prayers. The battle now truly begins,” Moore said the day after the election win. “We were running for the business. Now we’ve got to take care of business.

“We’ll fight this on our knees. We’ll be in prayer and I need your prayers because it is a mess in Washington, D.C,” Moore added. “There is a spiritual battle going on for this country. It’s not a political party battle, it’s not a race battle. It’s a spiritual-need battle for the future of our nation.”

At the Enterprise Recreation Center, Moore received 1,098 votes to Jeff Coleman’s 246 votes.

At Enterprise State Community College, Moore received 345 votes to Coleman’s 81 votes.

At Heritage United Methodist Church, Moore received 377 votes to Coleman’s 114 votes.

Moore received 263 votes to Coleman’s 72 votes at the Johns Chapel AME Church voting place.

At the Enterprise YMCA, Moore earned 1,137 votes to Coleman’s 251 votes.

In New Brockton at the Senior Center voting place, Moore received 84 votes to Coleman’s 15 votes.

Also in New Brockton, at the Farm Center Community Room, voters gave Moore 260 votes to Coleman’s 47 votes.

Moore will face Democrat challenger Phyllis Harvey-Hall on Nov. 3.

In the GOP runoff for the United States Senator seat being vacated by Martha Roby, Coffee County voters chose Tuberville over Jeff Sessions.

At the Enterprise Recreation Center, Tuberville received 838 votes to Sessions’ 503 votes.

At Enterprise State Community College, Tuberville received 248 votes to Sessions’ 178 votes.

At Heritage United Methodist Church, Tuberville received 289 votes to Sessions’ 193 votes.

Tuberville received 200 votes to Sessions’ 135 votes at the Johns Chapel AME Church voting place.

At the Enterprise YMCA, Tuberville received 817 votes to Sessions’ 559 votes.

In New Brockton at the Senior Center voting place, Tuberville received 65 votes to Sessions’ 36 votes.

Also in New Brockton, at the Farm Center Community Room, voters chose Tuberville with 197 votes to Sessions’ 109 votes.

Tuberville will face incumbent United States Sen. Doug Jones in the November General Election.
