The Republican Party voters in Dale County followed the statewide choices for Second Congressional District United States Representative and United States Senator.
Barry Moore and Tommy Tuberville are the choice of the nearly 20 percent of the Dale County Republican voters who went to the polls in the Republican Party runoff election Tuesday, July 14.
Moore is the winner of the GOP primary runoff for the Second Congressional District in Dale County. He
earned 3,790 votes to Jeff Coleman’s 2,898 votes.
“Keep us in your prayers. The battle now truly begins,” Moore said the day after the election win. “We were running for the business. Now we’ve got to take care of business.
“We’ll fight this on our knees. We’ll be in prayer and I need your prayers because it is a mess in Washington, D.C.,” Moore added. “There is a spiritual battle going on for this country. It’s not a political party battle, it’s not a race battle. It’s a spiritual-need battle for the future of our nation.”
At the Daleville Cultural and Convention Center, Moore got 314 votes to Coleman’s 196 votes.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic created constraints—for the first time—the Bowden Terrace Community Center voting place on Fort Rucker was moved to the Daleville Cultural and Convention Center. The voters chose Moore with 11 votes to Coleman’s 7.
In Level Plains, Moore received 378 votes to Coleman’s 116 votes.
At the Newton Town Hall voting place, Moore got 275 votes to Coleman’s 158.
At the Clayhatchee Community Center voting place, Moore received 159 votes to Coleman’s 68 votes.
Moore will face Democratic challenger Phyllis Harvey-Hall on Nov. 3.
In the runoff for the United States Senator post, Tuberville earned 4,078 votes in Dale County to Jeff Sessions’ 2,606 votes.
At the Daleville Cultural and Convention Center, Tuberville received 300 votes to Jess Session’s 209 votes.
At the former Bowden Terrace Community Center box, Tuberville received 7 votes to Sessions’ 11 votes.
In Level Plains, Tuberville received 298 votes to Sessions’ 192 votes.
At the Newton Town Hall voting place, Tuberville received 288 votes to Sessions’ 147 votes.
At the Clayhatchee Community Center voting place, Tuberville received 132 votes to Sessions’ 95 votes.
Tuberville will face incumbent United States Sen. Doug Jones in the November election.
