Daleville junior Tomar Hobdy (12) and senior Sincere McKenzie (0) had big games for Daleville last week.

The Daleville Warhawks picked up a 56-54 win at home over the Slocomb Red Tops on Jan. 15.

Daleville’s Tomar Hobdy had a big double-double for the Warhawks with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while senior Sincere McKenzie added 16 points and five steals.

The Lady Hawks dropped their matchup with Slocomb, however, by a score of 58-35. Daleville was led by senior Joye Anderson with 14 points, while Kiara Jenkins added nine points. Amerikus Enfinger and Tamiyah Johnson each had four points, while Rickia Thomas had six points and Markayla Flowers had five points. Gracie Ward led Slocomb with 24 points.

The Warhawks dropped a Dale County matchup with the Carroll Eagles 61-23 on Jan. 12.

The two sides slugged it out to an 11-11 tie heading into the second quarter but then the Eagles began to take control. Carroll outscored Daleville 16-4 in the second quarter taking a 27-15 into halftime. Carroll continued to turn it on in the third quarter outscoring Daleville 23-9 and then 11-4 in the fourth quarter to capture the resounding 61-28 win.

McKenzie led the Warhawks with 11 points, while Hobdy scored 10 points and Johnathan McFarland scored five points.

Bryson Dawkins led Carroll with 21 points.

On Jan. 11, the Warhawks managed to pick up a 58-52 win over the Geneva Bulldogs in area play, however.

Daleville jumped out to a 14-9 lead in the first quarter but Geneva bounced back and outscored the Warhawks 22-9 in the second quarter to take a 31-23 lead into halftime.

Daleville won the third quarter 17-10 to cut Geneva’s lead to 41-40 going into the final period, and then Daleville outscored Geneva 18-11 in the final period to capture the win.

Hobdy led the Warhawks in the win with 18 points and 20 rebounds, while Jiggy Bogan added 16 points and nine rebounds. McKenzie also chipped in with 13 points and six steals.
