Four vie for DBOE seat

Four people have put their name in the hat for the second Daleville City Schools Board of Education vacancy in as many months.

Johnny Buchannon, Debra Latremore, Frank Moore and Robert Williams each submitted a letter of interest in filling the remainder of DBOE member Barbara Davis’s term which is set to expire May 31, 2022.

The letters needed to be submitted to the Daleville City Clerk before the June 1 council meeting, Daleville Mayor Jayme Stayton announced at the May 18 Daleville City Council meeting.

Stayton said that all letters received will be reviewed by the city council and considered at the regular council meeting June 15.

The council most recently appointed Lynne McWilliams to the DBOE at the council meeting May 4. She was appointed to fill the vacancy created by Latremore, who opted not to be reappointed to a five year term on the board.

The next meeting of the Daleville City Council is Tuesday, June 15, at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers at Daleville City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
