The New Brockton Gamecocks defeated Pike County April 7 in a blow out 13-2 then shut out the Bulldogs 18-0 on April 8 in five innings.

The Gamecocks jumped out to a 6-2 lead after two innings then blew the game open with seven runs in the bottom of the third.

Kaden Cupp started the first with a single line drive to left field then scored on a double by Payton Green. McClenny was hit by a pitch and Gabe Herrington singled on a hard ground ball to left field scoring Green. Dawson Peacock then ground out but McClenny scored with Herrington advancing to third. Hayden Pope came in to pinch run for Herrington and crossed the plate on a passed ball to finish the scoring for New Brockton in the inning.

Drew Cashin pitched a complete game for the Gamecocks giving up two runs on two hits with 15 strikeouts.

Cupp led New Brockton at the plate going 3-for-4 scoring three runs and 1 RBI. Green went 2-for-2 with a double scoring two runs and 2 RBIs, Jaxon Whitworth went 2-for-3 scoring one run, Peacock went 1-for-3 with a double and 3 RBIs and Herrington went 2-for-4 scoring one run and 1 RBI.

New Brockton 18, Pike County 0

Green and Riley Simmons combined to pitch a shutout on April 8 and New Brockton defeated Pike County 18-0.

The Gamecocks scored eight runs in the first three innings after three triples, three singles, three walks and three batters hit by a pitch then scored 10 runs in the top of the fifth to finish the Bulldogs off.

Green started on the mound for New Brockton giving up one hit and nine strikeouts. Simmons came on to pitch the last inning and gave up one hit and two strikeouts.

Whitworth, Cupp and Peacock all had triples and Green had a double.

Cupp led all batters going 2-for-4 scoring four runs and 2 RBIs. Cashin was 2-for-2 scoring three runs and 2 RBIs. McClenny went 2-for-3 scoring two runs and 2 RBIs. Green went 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs and Herrington went 1-for-4 scoring two runs with 2 RBIs.

New Brockton had 12 hits and no errors while Pike County had two hits and three errors.
