Lady Cats

The Lady Cats celebrate winning the area championship. 

For the 28th consecutive year the Enterprise Lady Cats (30-13) end the regular season as area champions as they won the Class 7A, Area 3 Championship on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

The area championship is the eighth under head coach Janie Wiggins and sixth since moving to Class 7A in 2014. It’s also the sixth time the Lady Cats have won at least 30 games in a season under Wiggins.

In the semifinals of the Area 3 Tournament, Prattville picked up a 3-0 win over Jeff Davis before Enterprise dispatched of R.E. Lee 3-0.

The Lady Cats won all three sets in dominating fashion, by a score of 25-9, 25-11 and 25-3.

Sammie Neuwien led Enterprise with 13 assists, two digs and four kills, while Zationna Horne added five kills and three aces. Yasmeen Stallworth had five aces and Jaden Williams pitched in with six kills.

In the Area 3 Championship Enterprise also swept Prattville, winning the three sets 25-6, 25-14 and 25-20.

Morgan Harrelson was big for the Lady Cats with 12 kills, two blocks, 16 assists and 10 digs. Ali Wiggins also came up large with three aces, 11 kills, three blocks, 14 assists and seven digs.

Rhiannon Keck totaled six kills, two blocks and eight digs along with Tatiana Bonilla pitching in with four aces and 14 digs. My Cater totaled nine blocks.

As Area 3 Champions, the Lady Cats move on to the Class 7A South Super Regionals in Montgomery on Oct. 25. Enterprise will battle with Area 1 runner-up Mary Montgomery in the quarterfinals.

Super regionals takes place at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery with all semifinalists advancing to the state tournament in Birmingham. The quarterfinals of the super regionals take place on Oct. 25 with the semifinals, consolation game and finals taking place on Oct. 26.
