Kayden Taylor (23) and the Lady Cats won the Area 3 Championship last week.

The Enterprise Lady Cats (34-10) won the Class 7A, Area 3 Tournament Championship last week sweeping both Dothan and Prattville 3-0 in the semifinals and finals.

The win marks the 29th time Enterprise has earned its Area Tournament Championship in the past 30 years.

Enterprise’s dominating performance started with a 3-0 win over Dothan, winning all three sets 25-10, 25-11 and 25-8. In that win, Kayden Taylor led the way with six aces and two digs, while Jadyn Britton earned 17 kills and Hannah Chang contributed eight kills and three blocks. Zationna Horne also chipped in with five kills and Heather Holtz totaled 31 assists. Lil Rhoades earned six digs and Taylor Danford totaled two digs.

In the championship game, Enterprise thrashed Prattville in three sets winning 25-9, 25-10 and 25-14. Britton had 11 kills and two aces in the win, while Rhoades earned three aces and 10 digs. Karis Snells totaled two aces and Chang netted four kills and three blocks. Horne also earned 10 kills and Holtz amassed 32 assists.

The Lady Cats headed to Montgomery to battle in the Class 7A South Regionals on Oct. 21 against Central-Phenix City in the quarterfinals. The Lady Cats swept Central 25-11, 25-20 and 25-12 in three sets, as well. 

Jadyn Britton led Enterprise with seven kills, while Heather Holtz totaled five aces and 22 assists, Lil Rhoades earned 11 digs and Hannah Chang chipped in with a block. 

Enterprise will face off against the winner of McGill-Toolen in the semifinals on Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. in the Multi-Plex at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
