The New Brockton Lady Gamecocks split a tri-match with Opp and Pleasant Home on Sept. 27 picking up a win over Opp before falling to Pleasant Home.

New Brockton beat Opp 3-2 winning the first set 25-12 before losing the next set 25-9. In the third set, the Lady Gamecocks won 26-24 but Opp picked up a 25-23 win in the fourth set. In the fifth and final set, New Brockton came away with a 17-15 win.

New Brockton then lost both sets to Pleasant Home 25-11 and 25-11 before Pleasant Home also picked up a 2-0 win over Opp.

Leading the way for New Brockton was Anna Clark with 11 kills, while Angel McBay earned eight kills and Aneesa Klein and Jay Vera each totaled seven kills. Vera also had three aces.

Justie Ellis chipped in with two aces, 19 assists and 12 digs, while Madison Meek had seven assists and Lizzy Everts totaled 14 digs. Anna Blackmon also earned seven digs.

The JV Lady Gamecocks also competed in the Florala Volleyball Tournament on Sept. 25 against varsity teams. The JV team earned a 2-1 win over Florala winning the first set 25-21 before losing the second set 25-23. The Lady Gamecocks then captured the third set 15-13.

In the next round, New Brockton dropped the game 2-0 with Daleville as the Lady Hawks won 25-23 and 25-18.

In the final game of the tournament for the JV Lady Gamecocks, New Brockton beat Samson 27-25 before losing the final two sets 25-18 and 15-12.

Aniya Barkley led the JV squad in the tournament with 14 kills, four aces and 28 digs, while Ava Elmore earned eight kills and Jaiden Radcliffe totaled seven kills.

Samantha Payton chipped in with six aces, 27 digs and 10 assists, while Izzy Bryant had five aces, 27 digs and 19 assists. Anna Blackmon also had four aces and 20 digs.
